The two Koreas managed to agree on six points, including peace-building measures, on the fourth and final day of the 16th Cabinet-level talks in Pyongyang.
In a joint statement following the last session Friday, the delegations agreed on measures to ease military tensions and solidify peace on the Korean Peninsula regarding Seoul's proposal to set up a lasting peace mechanism for the divided peninsula.
The two sides also agreed to another reunion session for separated families in early November at the North's Mount Geumgang and to hold the 17th ministerial talks in December in the South's resort island of Jeju.
As for the whereabouts of South Koreans who went missing during the 1950s Korean War, the parties merely agreed to continue talks through their Red Cross societies.
They also agreed to discuss the second-phase development of the joint industrial complex in the North's border city of Gaesong and efforts to prevent the flooding of the Imjin River at the 11th inter-Korean economic cooperation committee meeting,
The talks on Friday also stressed the need for no-frills pragmatism in cross-border relations for the reconciliation and unity of Korea.
The South Korean delegation is to return home later in the day.
