North Korean media on Friday blamed the United States for instigating the nuclear standoff.

Pyongyang Radio said Washington has deployed every kind and form of weapon in South Korea, which is thus the biggest nuclear armory in the Far East and a nuclear beachhead solely to realize the U.S. military vision in Asia.

The broadcast blasted the continued U.S. deployment in the South as violating the Non-Proliferation Treaty, which bans the sending of nuclear arms to non-nuclear countries.
