'Koreas, U.S., China to Discuss Treaty'

Unification Minister Chung Dong-young says the two Koreas, the United States and China are the four parties to discuss the peace treaty mentioned in Monday's joint six-party statement.

In a Wednesday briefing to the ruling Uri Party leadership on the six-way talks, Chung said the meeting's results are significant in that Seoul articulated its own opinions and decisions unlike in the past.

During the recent inter-Korean ministerial talks in Pyongyang, he said he sent President Roh Moo-hyun's message on the nuclear talks three times to top officials there, and that North Korean leader Kim Jong-il received all three.

Chung also urged the ruling party's cooperation in the parliamentary session on a bill on developing cross-border relations and increasing the inter-Korean cooperation fund.
