The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) will host the 2005 Seoul Bio/Medi Symposium in October.

KITA officials said Monday that the symposium would open on October 18 to review the current status of stem cell-related bio-medicine and to set the future course of the field.

Internationally renowned scholars in cloning and embryonic stem cell research will participate in lectures and other events. Among the roster of expected attendees are stem cell pioneer Hwang Woo-suk, Director of the Pittsburgh Development Center Gerald Schatten, and Ian Wilmut of the U.K.'s Roslin Institute.
