Gov't to Mull Inter-Korean Postal Service

Unification Minister Chung Dong-young says the government will consider an inter-Korean postal service to exchange funds and food with separated relatives in North Korea.

On Separated Family Day Tuesday, Chung said the government could also allow separated relatives in the Koreas aged 80 or more to visit ancestral graves.

He said the joint statement of the six-party nuclear talks will also help reunite families separated during the Korean War, adding Seoul exercised an independent voice for the first time in its diplomatic history through the statement.

When the 60-year Cold War on the Korean Peninsula ends, he said separated families will see their wish come true.

The government will also review a bill on reunions of separated families.
