NK to Raise Rice Ration to 700 Grams

North Korea will raise its rice ration from 500 to 700 grams a day to mark the 60th anniversary of its ruling Workers' Party.
Sources who visited the North recently quoted a North Korean official as saying Pyongyang will increase the ration on October 10th.
Because of the country's food shortage, the ration fell from 800 to 300 grams a day and further to 250 grams early this year.
