Deputy Foreign Minister Song Min-soon says the joint statement adopted in the last round of the six-party nuclear talks is "very likely" to be implemented.

In a luncheon with reporters Friday, Seoul's chief delegate to the talks said the agreement might sound weak but is strong.

Song said the statement has brought the resolution of the nuclear issue, settling peace on the Korean Peninsula and promoting peace and security in Northeast Asia past the beginning stage.

He also said the six parties are on the same boat and will find it difficult to change course.
