Thai Foreign Minister Kantathi Suphamongkhon says North Korea is satisfied with its relations with South Korea and optimistic over their future.

In an interview with Radio Free Asia Monday, he said the North is grateful for Seoul's proposal to provide two million kilowatts of electricity.

Suphamongkhon visited Pyongyang at the end of last month on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Thailand and the North.

He also discussed the North's repayment of 83 million dollars to Thailand, including the possibility of using minerals and other goods to settle the debt in kind.
