An inter-Korean maritime transportation center on Tuesday opened in Seoul.

The center will handle inter-Korean maritime issues to boost cross-border cooperation, improve related systems and regulations and support private sea exchanges.

A committee comprising officials from the unification and maritime ministries and other agencies in Seoul will decide the center's agenda and policies.
