Christians from the two Koreas on Wednesday will hold a joint prayer service in Pyongyang.

During the two-day event at Chilgol Church, they will pray for unity and peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula.

Some 300 Christians from South Korea will fly into Pyongyang for the service.

Historians from the two sides will also meet later this month to hold an academic seminar on the colonial independence movement to mark the 60th anniversary of Korean liberation from Japanese rule.

Eighteen South Korean historians and ten from the North are expected to attend the seminar, which will run from October 22nd to 25th in Changchun, northeastern China.
