Ministry to Ensure Terrestrial DMB's Quality

Written: 2005-10-17 18:23:27Updated: 0000-00-00 00:00:00

The Information and Communication Ministry at the end of the month will implement regulations ensuring terrestrial digital media broadcasting offers a clearer picture.

To officially launch in December, providers of terrestrial DMB service must maintain quality by monitoring broadcast images on handsets rather than conducting internal checks on system operations.

Under new ministry regulations, the range of frequency fluctuations, the quality-determinant real transmission speed and the format of video and audio data signals will be subject to state inspection.

The regulations will take effect after consultations with agencies and organizations on October 27th.
