Deputy Unification Minister Lee Bong-jo has urged more state investment in inter-Korean economic projects, saying the cost is an investment towards creating a future market.

In a breakfast meeting Tuesday with Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry officials, Lee said more investment will reduce reunification expenses.

He said the subsidy for inter-Korean projects is lower than that of official development aid of member nations of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Lee also said the Mount Geumgang tour, the Gaesong Industrial Complex and the linking of cross-border roads and railways will lead to new ventures in agriculture, fisheries and mining.
