Lawmaker: Inter-Korean Summit Coming

Ruling Uri Party lawmaker Kim Jae-hong says he expects the second inter-Korean summit to open this year or early next year.

In an interview with the Catholic radio station PBC Thursday, he said talks with North Korea on the summit are going well.

Hinting that President Roh Moo-hyun is more likely to go to Pyongyang instead of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il coming to Seoul, Kim said Gaesong or Mount Geumgang could serve as the venue for the summit.

Presidential spokesman Kim Man-soo, however, denied that the two Koreas have discussed the summit, saying the intent was probably to urge a second meeting.
