Korea-Australia Forestry Talks to Be Held in Canberra

The Korea Forestry Service said Monday, Korea and Australia will have a second forestry cooperation committee meeting in Canberra, Australia March 20-24.

The Canberra meeting will focus on forestation projects in the two countries, forestry product trading and wood processing.

Meanwhile, Korea started a forestation project in Australia in 1993, with the area of forestation there so far covering 12,172 hectares.

Korea's import of forestry products from Australia last year reached U.S. $69 million from $20 million in 1998.
