'NK Human Rights Week' to Open Dec. 5

The organizing committee for the International Conference on North Korean Human Rights has designated December 5th to 11th as "North Korea Human Rights Week."

The committee on Monday said it will hold conferences, concerts and other events during the week, including a December 8th welcoming banquet for Seoul-based supporters of human rights in the North at the Shilla Hotel.

An NGO convention and special forums will discuss strategies to improve human rights in the North.

The committee will also hold photo exhibits in the plaza in front of the Seoul City Hall and a candlelight vigil on December 10th from Cheonggye Square to Jongmyo Park.
