Officials at the Federal Ministry of Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture said Tuesday the German government will dispatch experts to North Korea next week to conduct preliminary inspections of aid distribution facilities there in preparation for its upcoming donation of beef to North Korea.

A spokesman for the ministry said the delegation will be checking the facilities for about a week.

At negotiation sessions with North Korea last month, Germany placed several conditions on its donation, including the use of an independent international relief organization to oversee the project, guaranteed unrestricted distribution to the populace and preliminary inspections of distribution facilities by experts.

North Korea immediately agreed to Germany's stipulations.
