N. Korea Blasts U.S. Freeze on Assets

North Korea has again blasted the United States for its freeze of the U.S.-based assets of eight North Korean firms.

The North's official daily Rodong Shinmun on Wednesday called the move an attempt to overturn the joint statement reached at the six-party nuclear talks that values mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.

The commentary said the freeze aims to put more pressure on Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear program first and place Washington in a more advantageous position in the next round of the talks.
