KNT group to offer PDA translation services to taxis

The KNT Group, a translation company, said Wednesday it has formed a tie-up with Katis, a software firm, to provide nine-seater Seoul taxis with simultaneous translation services through personal digital assistants (PDAs).
The larger taxis will begin operating late next month.
The KNT Group will offer English, Chinese, Japanese and Russian translation services, credit card payment systems and geological information via PDAs.
The KNT Group president said the translation service will make it easy for foreign customers to communicate with their drivers as translators will help them through the digital equipment.
