Stem Cell Hub to Pick 10 Test Subjects

The new World Stem Cell Hub in Seoul will select ten test subjects for its first round of research on incurable diseases.

The center on Wednesday said it will extract stem cells from five Parkinson's patients and five with spinal cord paralysis, cultivate the cells and test them on ten monkeys before beginning clinical testing.

The center on Tuesday began accepting applications for test subjects and has received 9,500.

Located in Seoul National University Hospital, the center opened late last month.
