12th Inter-Korean Reunions to Begin Sat.

Some 200 separated family members from the two Koreas, one-hundred from each side, will meet at North Korea's Mount Geumgang resort from Saturday to Thursday.

The South Korean Red Cross on Friday said a 444-member South Korean delegation, including support staff and journalists, will leave for the North Saturday for a three-day reunion with 100 family members. Another group of 145 from the South will travel to the North Tuesday to unite with some 220 North Korean relatives.

Some ten-thousand South and North Koreans have been briefly reunited with their long lost kin over the course of eleven reunions since August 2000 as agreed on in a joint declaration signed that year.

The country has remained divided by the world's most militarized border since the end of the Korean War.
