More int'l NGO's operate in N. Korea

North Korea has recently seen an increase in the number of international nongovernmental organizations operating in the country.

Officials in Seoul say the Baptist World Aid and Hungarian Baptist World Aid got approval from the North's Flood Damage Rehabilitation Committee to open their offices in Pyongyang. The International Association of Handicapped People has also sealed an
agreement with Pyongyang on relief activities in the North.

Ten international NGO's are already active in North Korea.

According to the South Korean officials, Pyongyang recently agreed to allow 10 more officials from the World Food Program to reside in the North to support the United Nation's emergency relief activities

The humanitarian relief groups are considering making a joint plan on the performance and coordination of relief activities.
