'Mount Geumgang Tour to Normalize Soon'

Hyundai Group Chairwoman Hyun Jung-eun says the conglomerate and North Korea have agreed in principle to normalize the Mount Geumgang tour in the near future.

Returning from a visit to the North Thursday, Hyun told a news conference that the two sides have resolved their row over the dismissal of the group's long-time point man on the North, Kim Yoon-kyu.

The specific date and details of the tour's normalization will come after talks Friday, but a Hyundai source said the tour should resume before its seventh anniversary on November 17th.

Hyun said she was satisfied with her two rounds of talks with Ri Jong-hyok, vice chairman of the North's Asia-Pacific Peace Committee.

She said he expressed understanding of Kim's dismissal and that mutual trust was restored.
