The two Koreas on Thursday signed an agreement on the running of an inter-Korean office for economic cooperation in the North Korean city of Gaesong.

Taking effect immediately, the agreement stipulated the methods of office operations, holding of conferences, labor, safety guarantees and emergency measures.

The office opened late last month in Gaesong Industrial Park to help direct inter-Korean trade and provide data on trade and investment.

Seoul dispatched 14 officials to the office and Pyongyang 12.
