N. Korean Fighters Violate Nat'l Airspace

Two North Korean fighters on Friday briefly violated South Korean airspace over the West Sea.

The Combined Forces Command said the planes crossed the Northern Limit Line about 68 kilometers west of Baengnyeong Island around 1:13 p.m., but turned back shortly afterwards for no apparent reason.

A CFC official said the North Korean planes apparently violated the NLL as a shortcut to the North after flying in the open sea, adding the South Korean air force sent six fighters to issue a radio warning.
