Inter-Korean trade volume has steadily increased, with South Korea's imports from Gaesong Industrial Park in North Korea surpassing a record 10 million dollars.

The Korea International Trade Association on Tuesday said cross-border trade volume reached 870 million dollars in the first ten months of the year, up 60 percent from a year ago.

South Korean exports to the North rose 80 percent over the same period to 61 million dollars, while North Korean imports increased 27 percent to 26 million dollars.

The association cited the park's development for fueling the rise in inter-Korean commerce, with the complex accounting for 16 percent of South-North trade between January and October.
