BBC Profiles Nation's Jet Trainer T-50

BBC World on Monday broadcast a feature on the debut of the country's jet trainer T-50 at the Dubai International Air Show in the United Arab Emirates.

The Air Force said a 90-second clip showed the attention generated by the supersonic jet in the show, with the highlight being pilot Lee Choong-hwan showing off sharp curves and inverted flying.

The trainer was built by the Air Force, Korea Aerospace Industries and Lockheed Martin in a joint project begun in 1997 to produce the country's first supersonic jet.

Noted for its maneuverability, versatility and easy operation, the T-50 is used to train pilots to fly advanced aircraft.

In early November, Air Force Chief of Staff Kim Seong-il took a test flight on the jet.
