The two Koreas will discuss economic cooperation Wednesday in working-level talks in Gaesong.
The two-day meeting will focus on the implementation of agreements reached at the eleventh round of inter-Korean talks on economic cooperation late last month.
Officials will try to iron out differences over projects involving inter-Korean railways and roads as well as joint fishing at the western sea border and the prevention of flooding of the Imjin River.
The two sides will also try to implement an agreement on Seoul's proposal to provide the North with raw materials for light industry in exchange for investment rights in the development of the North’s underground resources.
However, at the eleventh round of economic talks, the two sides failed to reach an accord on the volume of the raw materials that would be provided.
