Gov’t to Launch Astronaut Program

The Science and Technology Ministry has announced plans to jointly launch an astronaut training program with the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) by the end of November.

The program aims to select and train astronauts for an April 2007 space mission and to acquire applied aerospace technology.

The ministry will begin a four-step selection process in November and chose two astronaut candidates by March 2006.
