Regular Video Reunions to Start Next Year

Separated families in the two Koreas from next year will likely hold regular video reunions.

Korea National Red Cross President Han Wan-sang in Seoul said Thursday that he recently proposed the idea to North Korea, and that Pyongyang is more interested in holding video reunions than face-to-face meetings.

But Han said he will strive for offline reunions on national holidays such as New Year's Day, Dano, Chuseok and Liberation Day and on June 15, when the inter-Korean declaration was signed in 2000.
