A growing number of women are offering to donate their eggs following stem cell pioneer Hwang Woo-suk's resignation Thursday from all of his posts over ethical lapses in his research.

More than 380 netizens as of Friday morning expressed their willingness to donate ova on the Website of the online community, "People Who Love Hwang." Many women posted their intent to donate eggs Thursday.

A private foundation that opened Monday to gather donated eggs for research and therapeutic purposes also received 80 applications from potential donors.

Some 460 of the country's women have offered to provide eggs for Hwang's research.
