A state-run center focusing on preventing the export of strategic technology will be set up next year.

The Ministry of Science and Technology announced Monday that the move comes in line with the international community’s recent efforts to tighten monitoring of strategic technology export.

The ministry plans to pass into law current regulations that restrict such exports in an effort to provide a legal framework for the monitoring efforts.

With the center, the government expects to be able to repeal the approval of exports of strategic technology that might be used to produce weapons.
