North Korea's total grain production this year is estimated to see an increase of five-point-three percent over last year.

The Seoul-based Rural Development Administration projected an increase of 230-thousand tons to some four-point-five million tons in total based on its comprehensive analysis of weather conditions, blight and supply of farm tools in the North.

The organization also said the North's rice production rose to some two-million tons, while corn output declined slightly from last year.
