U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has called on North Korea to stop counterfeiting other nations’ currencies.

In an interview with the daily USA Today, Rice urged the North to end such practices in response to a question on whether she was planning to invite North Korean officials to New York to discuss economic sanctions and illegal financial transactions.

The paper added that the secretary made it very clear she would crack down on banks with illegal financial ties to the Stalinist country.
