Despite some concerns over insufficient preparations, the Incheon International Airport was off to a good start.

Officials at the Incheon International Airport Corporation and the Ministry of Construction and Transportation said operations on the first day went smoothly. But minor complaints were reported from passengers over insufficient signboards, baggage handling speed and transportation to and from the airport.

A system error also had Northwest Airline passengers waiting an hour to complete their check-in process.

But officials say that on the whole, the first day went without big confusion and delays, wiping out misgivings about its operations that have been raised in the run-up to opening on Thursday.
