N. Korea Demands Talks on Sanctions

North Korea says reconvening the six-way talks will be absolutely impossible if the U.S. refuses to negotiate on the issue of financial sanctions against the Stalinist state.

The Rodong Shinmun, the official organ of the North’s Korean Workers' Party, wrote in a Tuesday editorial that Pyongyang regards as 'inconceivable' the resumption of the nuclear disarmament talks so long as Washington 'doggedly' persists in imposing financial sanctions against North Korea.

The daily stressed that if the U.S. is genuinely interested in reopening the nuclear talks and notching progress, it should make pragmatic moves toward lifting the sanctions as soon as possible.
