North Korea is against changing the venue for the six-party nuclear talks from Beijing.

Hwang Ik-hwan, a researcher for the North's Foreign Ministry, told a news conference in the Chinese capital Friday that the talks began in and were conducted in Beijing and thus should stay there.

He also said Pyongyang is ready to immediately return to the talks if Washington lifts its financial sanctions on the North.
