Seoul delegation flies to HK on Tumen River development

A nine-member South Korean delegation flew to Hong Kong Wednesday to attend a meeting of Northeast Asian nations to discuss ways to develop the Tumen River basin as a regional hub of transportation and distribution.

The head of the planning and management bureau of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Lee Young-hoi led the Seoul delegation to the fifth Tumen River Area Development Project (TRADP) meeting which will be attended by vice-minister-level officials of North Korea, China, Russia and Mongolia.

The two-day meeting will focus on a three-stage development project which will be undertaken between 2001 and 2003.
