North Korea has set up an online database for financial transactions.

Sources close to the North in Beijing said Tuesday that Pyongyang's economic and trade think tank recently completed the database "Satbyol," or morning star, in keeping pace with the rapid growth of trade in the information technology era.

The database lists share prices on major world bourses including the London Metal Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade and the New York Mercantile Exchange, in addition to foreign exchange rates in global financial markets
