N. Korea Sends Results of Imjin River Study

The Unification Ministry on Wednesday said North Korea last week sent inspection results in a joint project to prevent flooding in the Imjin River bordering the two Koreas.

The two Koreas in July agreed to joint study the river, with South Korea providing the North in August the results of an inspection covering the Imjin's south side.

The ministry will review the North's report and prepare military guarantees for the project's joint inspection at an inter-Korean meeting of generals next month.

The two Koreas will draft fundamental measures to prevent flooding after the joint inspection and a review of other steps, including the setup of an alert system.
