Inter-Korean Trade Exceeded $1 Bln in 2005

The volume of inter-Korean trade was found to have surpassed one-billion U.S. dollars last year for the first time ever.

According to the Unification Ministry Thursday, South-North trade amounted to more than one billion dollars last year, up 51 percent from 2004 and posting an accumulated amount of six billion dollars since 1989.

Out of the total inter-Korean trade, imports accounted for some 31 percent at three-hundred-40 million dollars, while exports accounted for nearly 63 percent at seven-hundred million dollars.
