The first batch of rice produced by the two Koreas has arrived in South Korea's Gyeonggi Province.

A province source said Thursday that a ton of rice harvested in May last year in a joint rice farm on the outskirts of Pyongyang arrived in the port of Incheon near Seoul.

"Gyeonggi-Pyongyang Rice" was made with the farming skills of the province and labor of the North.

Gyeonggi will extend this year an area for pilot rice farming to 100 hectares at the request of the North.
