The Information and Communication Ministry said Tuesday it has decided to send 150 volunteers who will teach Internet skills to members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in July at the earliest.

The plan follows what President Kim Dae-jung promised last November to help solve the digital divide during the "ASEAN+3" summit.

The volunteers will come from colleges, organizations and individual initiatives.

The ministry will draw up related plans this month before discussing them with IT concerns which hope to expand sales in Southeast Asia.
