The main operator of inter-Korean tourism programs will expand its Mount Geumgang resort in North Korea and improve operations.

Hyundai Asan on Thursday said that in the first half of the year, it will fully implement an electronic card system that was introduced in November last year to simplify the entry processing for tourists.

The company will negotiate with the North on operating a cable car to the mountain's central peak of Sejon.

New accommodations and facilities are also in the works, including an 18-hole golf course this summer.
