NK Leader Said to Arrive in Beijing

Sources in China say North Korean leader Kim Jong-il arrived in Beijing this morning following his reported departure from Shenzhen Sunday night.

A motorcade believed to be ferrying Kim was confirmed as having entered the compound at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing at around 8:30 Tuesday morning, local time.

Kim was said to have headed straight to the guest house immediately after arriving at the Beijing West Station on a special train.

The reclusive leader is expected to meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao to discuss pending issues including the six-way nuclear talks, North Korea’s alleged counterfeiting activities, and bilateral economic cooperation.
