North Korea says it has completed preparation for repelling an American attack and has threatened to use nuclear weapons for its defense.

The China Youth Daily, the official newspaper of the Communist Youth League of China, quoted North Korean Lieutenant General Lee Chan-bok as insisting Pyongyang has nuclear weapons.

The report was based on an interview with Lee in Pyongyang by a reporter from the American broadcast network CBS.
