North Korea says it faces ruin if it makes concessions in a showdown with the United States.

The Rodong Shinmun, the official daily of the North's Workers' Party, said Friday that Pyongyang has learned an important lesson from the six-way nuclear talks and relations with Washington and will pay more attention to the Bush administration's double-faced tactics.

In an editorial, the newspaper said the North will firmly stick to its position of "an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth."
