KT to Build Comm. Center in NK Next Yr

Korea Telecom will build a communications center on a 2.5 acre site at North Korea's Gaesong Industrial Complex by next year.
The company on Monday said the center will prepare for the expanded demand for fixed and wireless phone and Internet connections from the growing number of businesses operating in the complex.
KT says preparations for construction are underway and it will hold talks with North Korea on the transport of communication equipment into the North.
The Gaesong complex is expected to encompass over 820 acres and 300 companies by 2007.
