Korea Submarine Telecom, an affiliate of Korea Telecom, said Wednesday it has won an order from U.S. TyCom to construct part of the city to city submarine cable, connecting seven Southeast Asian countries.

This is the fourth overseas project awarded to the company since China-U.S. and Japan-U.S. cable projects began in 1999 and the South American submarine cable construction project last year.

The project this time is worth $20 million dollars, which is the largest amount so far for the company.

The cable will connect Japan, China, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea.
