South-North Trade Grew 28% in January

A new report shows that inter-Korean economic exchanges have been continuously increasing, anchored mainly by activity in the private sector.

According to the report released by the Korea International Trade Association Tuesday, inter-Korean trade grew 28 percent year-on-year in January to amount to some 63 million U.S. dollars.

Out of the total amount, exchanges involving economic cooperation projects more than doubled to account for nearly 20 million dollars.

In particular, projects involving the Gaesong Industrial Complex posted around 14 million dollars, up one-hundred-20 percent year-on-year.
