A festival to mark the sixth anniversary of the 2000 inter-Korean summit talks will be held in Gwangju, South Jeolla Province this year.

South Korea’s organizing committee for the June 15th national unification festival made the announcement on Wednesday.

The festival will be held on June 14th for a five-day run, at sites throughout the city including the Gwangju World Cup Stadium and the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center.

Some 1,000 people are expected to take part in the festival, including a North Korean delegation and government officials, civic groups, and religious and academic organizations from the South.

The two Koreas have alternately hosted the festival.
